1945 Château Lafite 1/2 bottle: The cork was in a sensational condition, as was the bouquet: an elegant cassis mixed with a gentle aroma of black
peppers. The taste also included touches of citrus, with red cherries and oat-bread. It was and elegant flavour, at times reminding me of the levity of a fine old burgundy. The
taste, however, was also quite thinned out, with a finish of 25 seconds. An intriguing experience, but clearly starting to fade; but this was 1/2 bottle and larger formats might score
higher. 4.25/5
