Abbazia di Novacella

The Kerner greape appears to be originally a cross between Riesling and Trollinger created 1929 in Wurttemberg.

2019 Abbazia di Novacella Stiftskellerei Kloster Neustift Eisacktaler Kerner Südtirol Trentino-Alto Adige: a light pale yellow colour greets us.  The bouquet consisted of fresh apples, unripe pears,  ripe Cox Orange apples and hints hints of citrus and ripe grapefruit.  I was quite laden with minerals and a firm acid grip and spritz, with a finish of 50 seconds.  Nice and fresh in summer.  July 2021.  Drink - 2026. 3.25/5
