Dr Wehrheim Kastanienbusch Spätburgunder Birkweiler Pfalz

2003 Dr Wehrheim Kastanienbusch Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) Birkweiler rich Pinot Noir bouquet, overall not a heavy wine, velvety but fresh in flavour, with the aromas of cherry, blackberry, a nigh-mineral undertone with a touch of spice, as well as beautifully balanced tannins, with a finish of 30 seconds.  1/2 bottle. Probably at its peak now - drink until 2025. Open one hour prior to serving, but it does not need decanting.  February 2019.  The 2007 , 2008 and 2009 were unfortunately under screwcap, but the 2010 is under cork again.   3.75/5
