CENTURIES SANDALWOOD

This is example of the lavish application of Australian sandalwood, which has been used more frequently in recent times, e.g. by Le Labo. This is a very good rendering of this lovely ingredient. Unlike many other products using it, is is not heavily diluted buy the customary addition of cedar, but shines in its on glory. it as a slightly ashy undertone, with transient whiffs if a creamy caramel.

Initial touches of a very restrained smokiness are noticeable, as are discreet botanical and slightly herbal undertones.

I get moderate sillage, good projection, and five hours of longevity on my skin.

Whilst not very rich and nuanced, and not one of the finest sandalwood creations, this autumnal daytime scent is a simple and comparatively straight forward sandalwood composition, that shows that simplicity, if done well, has its place in the fragrance wardrobe.
