The opening blast is remarkable in that it presents all the four ingredients I perceive of the scent pyramid at one. he leather and the tobacco are most prominent
on me. The leather is quite bright, with just a touch of tannin, and lacking any harshness or smokiness. The tobacco reminds me of a pleasant Virginia-based pipe tobacco, without any Perique or
Latakia - in other words: quite smooth.
The wood component comes across as cedar all right, but a bit more subdued than the major notes, and I do not get any strong pencil shavings here. The oakmoss is
traceable, but it is the least interesting and most generic-synthetic of the four.
Other minor impressions transiently appear, like whiffs of a white pepper and of a smidgen of frankincense, but they are truly subordinate and ephemeral
occurrences.
I get moderate sillage, good projection, and six hours of longevity on my skin.
This fairly bright autumnal scent follows the approach of a traditional leather tobacco creation, conjuring up leather sofas in a smoking room, without being
stuffy, dusty, or intrusive. at times I get a bright, nigh-shrill steely-metallic hint that puts it into a more modern category. There is nothing musty or stern in this scent.
Overall it is blended well.
