2009 Dry River Pinot Noir from the Martinborough Region in the southern part of the North Island - Bottle No 2312: the colour was a medium transparent cherry red with a slightly ochre rim; the fruity bouquet displayed redcurrants, cassis, oranges, and cherries. In the mouth: young fresh cherries, orange zest, and with lots of oxygen ripe sweet blueberries; it was dying quickly though and a bit anaemic. The finish lasted about 40 seconds. Decanted one hour prior to serving. Drink until 2023. June 2021. 2.75/5
2016 Dry River Pinot Gris Martinborough New Zealand: the colour is a saturated yellow; on the nose we got pears, ripe apples with a pleasant spritz. In the mouth it developed ripe pears, honey - again with a distinct fizz, combined with a touch of unripe Cantaloup melons. It was somewhat fat and bit oily; not really a dry white wine. The finish lasted about 30 seconds . Drink until 2024. July 2021. 3/5
