CASK STRENGTH 58%:
a golden colour, with a nose of vanilla with a touch of spice, and on the palate vanilla, a touch of molasses, caramel with pleasant sweetness, a fruity undertone and moderate smoky peatiness. This one gently peated, and in spite of the alcohol strength it is a bit less intense than other editions of Finlaggan. The finish lasts about 40 seconds. A very nicely balanced Single Malt. 3.75/5
Eilean Mor 46%: A darkish amber colour, with a slightly salty and smoky nose. In the mouth medium smoky peat, with notes of iodine, oilve oil and a pleasant sweetness, wt a finish of 40 seconds. 3.75/5
Old Reserve 40%: a dark amber colour, with a nose that is salty and smoky with an ozonic undertone. On the palate it is peppery, with lots of tar, some iodine and licorice, with woods and a malty sweetness that balances out the whole beautifully. This is a very peaty beast, and maybe a touch too one-sided at times, especially towards the end, and it has a finish of 50 seconds. A beautiful fine Single Malt. There seem to exist two different labels. 4.25/5
