2013 Pierre Gimmonet & Fils Paradoxe Brut 1er Cru from Aÿ on the Montagne de Reims and from the Côte des Blancs; 90% Pinot Noir 10% Chardonnay:
a surprisingly bright lemony colour; a bouquet of lemon and yeast; in the mouth lemon, lemon cake, meringue, and with more air also some orange and Appletizer. A bit later green apples and pears
are also present. It has a a round and smooth finish of 40 seconds.
Very bright and summery. drink - 28. Very good. June 2021. 4/5.
P.S. This might be the last Paradoxe of this kind, as the Pinot vines were reportedly removed from the vineyard and replaced with Chardonnay.
