The infamous initial impression was not too distressing on my skin, a bit like a mouthwash and not what one wants to wear as a fragrance but not really foul. After
the half an hour wait that fellow basenoters advocate there was indeed the transition to the powdery barbershop lilac notes; clean, no-nonsense notes that are very pleasant and agreeable. Not
sophisticated but convincing in its straightforwardness - no fancy advertising campaigns, no pretense and refreshingly little spin. It is a very traditional but timeless scent. Longevity on my
skin is limited to a couple of hours, but as an After Shave and with such affordability no more can be expected. 3.5/5
