Shoe Care

Polished binder, aka as bookbinder leather, is coated with an - often synthetic/acrylic - leather to make it shiny.  It needs a less frequent shoe care, but once scratched it is hard to restore to a good shine.  "Cavalry Leather" is a term for a similar type of leather.
