1964 Viña Albina Cenicero Bodegas Riojanas Rioja Alta: a medium thin transparent red colour with an orange rim,
a nose of wood, mushroom, earthy notes with aromas of black truffle soup and tomato consommé. In the mouth sweet, earthy, with residual forest berries; it is fruity, a touch salty, with
some acid in the background. Later touches of cherries are present too, with a finish of 30 seconds. It was undecanted - fearing age-related instability - but is was improving after
six hours of oxygenation. The bouquet was the best part, but it was still quite impressive overall given its ago of over 50 years. Drink up. 3.5/5
